More apprenticeship schemes

I propose that the council brings back more support for apprenticeship schemes. It used to be the case that when leaving school you had the option to train in a discipline that would set you up in a job for life. Now a lot of kids leaving school spread themselves across a number of subjects and end up with few life skills but a lot of certificates for a job well done!

I propose that more funding should be made available to provide support and opportunities to train in apprenticeships as an alternative to further education.

Apprrenticeships would provide life long skills in careers that can be rewarding; not only financially but as a lifestyle too. More skilled workers would fill the skill shortage and would mean better self sufficiency for the area.
